Brain Out 2 Level 18

๐Ÿ“ Walkthrough

Overview

Level 18 tells you to "Save the little girl!" A crying little girl stands by a playground slide while an angry, barking dog inside the circular sandpit faces her and growls. There is a sand bucket with a shovel on the left, a seesaw, a slide, and some rocks. In the sand there is a small mound hiding something. You cannot fight the dog; the way to save the girl is to distract it with food. There is a bone buried in the sand โ€” dig it up and give it to the dog. Once the dog has a bone to chew, it lies down happily and leaves the girl alone.

Step-by-Step Solution

  1. Read the danger. The girl is crying because the angry dog in the sandpit is barking and lunging at her. You need to calm the dog down.
  1. Do not try to grab the girl or fight the dog. Running over or attacking the dog will not work; you need to distract it.
  1. Look at the sand. There is a small raised mound in the sandpit (and a shovel in the bucket on the left). Something is buried under that mound.
  1. Dig up the bone. Dig at the sand mound (use the shovel / tap the mound) to uncover a bone buried in the sand. A hole appears where you dug.
  1. Give the bone to the dog. Drag the bone over to the dog. The dog grabs it and lies down to chew on it peacefully, its tail wagging and eyes closed in contentment.
  1. Confirm the clear. The dog no longer threatens anyone. The girl stops crying, smiles with little flowers around her, and the prompt reads "You saved the little girl!" The green next button appears.

Strategy & Reasoning

This is a distraction puzzle. The dog is aggressive because it is guarding / wanting something, and the playground props hint at the solution: there is a shovel and a sandpit, which means something can be dug out. The mound in the sand is the tell โ€” it is hiding a bone.

Dogs are famously distracted by bones. Rather than confronting the angry dog, you dig up the bone and offer it. Once the dog has something to chew, it loses interest in the girl and lies down happily. This is why the reward shows the dog peacefully gnawing a bone while the girl relaxes.

The seesaw, slide and rocks are scenery. The key interactions are digging the buried bone out of the sand and handing it to the dog. If you only dig and do not give the bone to the dog, the girl is not yet safe; the bone must actually reach the dog's mouth. The peaceful, bone-chewing dog is the success state.

Tips & Common Mistakes

  • Mistake: trying to pull the girl away. Dragging the girl does not stop the aggressive dog. Calm the dog first.
  • Mistake: ignoring the sand mound. The bone is buried under the small bump in the sand. Dig it out โ€” without the bone you cannot distract the dog.
  • Mistake: digging but not giving the bone. After unearthing the bone, you must drag it to the dog. Only when the dog is lying down chewing the bone (and the girl smiles) is the level cleared.
