Overview

Halloween Challenge Level 51 is a five-color gem collection level. The objective bar at the top lists five gem types with their required counts: green 5, light-blue 7, dark-blue 5, red 8, and orange 3. Red, green, blue, and orange gem tiles are scattered across the 9x9 board, and the level ends when every required gem on the board has been removed. Gem tiles are removed the moment a complete row or column that contains them is cleared — the same line clear that fills an empty line also sweeps up every gem sitting on that line. The winning video opens on the tripledot splash screen, then drops into the level with the board roughly one-third filled and all five objective counters active. The run winds down to the final "WELL DONE!" banner with every counter at 0.

Step-by-Step Solution

1. When the level loads, scan the board and note where the densest clusters of each required color sit. In this run the red gems are the most numerous (8 required) and are spread across the center band, while the orange gems (only 3) are sparse and easy to forget. Build your early clears around the colors with the highest counts first.
2. Start placing the offered wood blocks into open pockets on the outer edges. Anchor the small 2x2 corner pieces and short bars along the top and side rows so that you are filling lines that already contain a red or green gem. Each completed row that crosses a gem cluster removes those gems and decrements the matching counter.
3. By the middle of the attempt (around the 33% mark of the video), the counters read 5/7/5/8/3 and the board is roughly one-third filled with wood blocks. At this stage you should have already cleared several rows through the upper half. Keep finishing lines that run horizontally through the center band where most red gems are concentrated; a horizontal clear there collects multiple reds at once.
4. As the counters fall, switch attention to the sparse colors. The orange gems (only 3) and dark-blue gems (5) are easy to leave for last; whenever an offered piece can complete a column that still holds an orange or dark-blue gem, take it. By the late stages the counters are down to roughly 0/1/0/0/0 — only one light-blue gem remains.
5. For the final clear, arrange the offered pieces so that the last open slot on a row or column containing the final light-blue gem is filled. The line flashes and clears, the gem is swept off, and the last counter drops from 1 to 0.
6. Immediately after the final clear the board dims, the collected gems float upward off the grid, and the "WELL DONE!" banner appears with all five objective counters reading 0. The level is complete at this point; the video then cuts to a closing ad.

Strategy & Reasoning

This level is won by line clears, not by filling space. Because gems are removed only when their row or column is completed, the winning approach is to deliberately aim clears at the gem-dense bands rather than randomly stacking blocks. Clearing through the center horizontal band early removes many of the abundant red and green gems in one move, and reserving column clears for the sparse orange/dark-blue gems prevents those from being stranded late. Keeping the board from filling up is still essential: a crowded board removes your ability to choose which line to complete next.

Tips & Common Mistakes

• Do not pile blocks into the center just to fill gaps; you want the center lines left open for clearing through gem clusters.
• Keep track of the low-count colors (orange = 3, dark-blue = 5). It is common to finish reds and greens and then realize the orange gems are still sitting untouched in a corner.
• If only one gem type remains, do not place pieces randomly — identify exactly which row or column holds that gem and build toward completing it.
• Avoid wasting a large piece on a line that has no gems; that fills space without advancing any objective.
• The level ends the instant the last gem is cleared; you do not need to clear the whole board.
