Woodoku Journey Level 50
๐ Walkthrough
Overview
Woodoku Journey Level 50 is a Halloween block-placement puzzle on a 9ร9 grid with a demanding five-way gem objective: collect 7 green, 6 blue, 5 dark, 7 red, and 8 gold gems. The board is densely seeded with every color โ green gems in the corners and center, blue gems on the left and lower rows, dark gems near the top, red gems scattered through the middle, and gold gems along the bottom. A gem is collected only when the row or column through its cell completes. Pieces come from the bottom tray in sets of three, and cleared lines vanish. The level is won when all counters reach zero.
- Difficulty: Hard
- Estimated moves: ~32
Step-by-Step Solution
- At the 45-second opening the counters read 7 green, 6 blue, 5 dark, 7 red, 8 gold. The tray offers a small blue-topped corner, a tall L-piece, and a short gold-topped corner.
- Begin with the rows that hold multiple corner gems. The top row already has green and gold gems at both ends; build toward completing it so one clear harvests several gems at once.
- Feed the tall L-piece into the left side where the blue and dark gems cluster, building the column that sweeps down through them.
- By the 90-second frame the counters read 5 green, 3 blue, 5 dark, 4 red, 5 gold โ progress on green, blue, red, and gold. The board is around half filled, and the tray offers a small gold-topped corner.
- Continue the multi-gem rows: the lower-middle row holds several red and gold gems, so extend that row horizontally until it clears.
- The late game gets crowded. By the 135-second frame the counters sit at 5 green, 2 blue, 5 dark, 4 red, 4 gold, with the board packed and awkward gaps opening in the center.
- The run cannot finish: the screen ends on "NO SPACE LEFT" with every objective still partly incomplete.
Strategy & Reasoning
With 33 gems across five colors, this level is a pure efficiency test. The only way to collect so many gems before the board fills is to complete rows and columns that cross as many gems as possible. The reference run's early progress comes from the corner rows and the lower multi-gem row, which is the correct priority.
The failure is running out of board space. Because the starting board is already rich with gems, there is very little empty room, and once the easy rows are partly built the player keeps filling pockets without finishing the half-built lines. The winning approach is to identify the three or four rows that hold the most gems, complete them in order, and never place a piece that does not advance one of those lines.
Tips & Common Mistakes
- Mistake: placing pieces in empty corners. Correct: every piece must advance a row or column that contains target gems.
- Mistake: finishing single-gem rows first. Correct: prioritize the rows that sweep three or four colors at once.
- Mistake: letting the center fragment. Correct: after each clear, plug the resulting one-cell holes immediately with the next small piece.
