Brain Out 2 Level 98
๐ Walkthrough
Overview
Level 98 urges "Help him! His leg cramps!" A man is in the deep end of a swimming pool, arms thrown up in panic with a red warning mark above him, about to drown from a leg cramp. Around the pool sit a lifebuoy ring on a table, an empty bowl on the deck, a lounge chair with a phone, and a long stick on the grass. The victory line, "Be careful when swimming!", reveals the absurd rescue: instead of throwing him a float, the whole pool is drained so he can stand up.

Step-by-Step Solution
- Read the emergency. Notice the man in the deep water waving his arms, unable to touch the bottom because his leg cramped.
- Do not bother with the lifebuoy or the stick. Dragging the ring or the pole to him is the expected rescue, but the game has a sillier solution in mind.
- Drain the pool. Pull out the drain plug (or open the pool drain) so the water starts flowing out.
- Watch the water level drop. The deep water drains away, leaving only a shallow puddle at the bottom of the emptying pool.
- He stands up safely. With the water now only ankle-deep, the man drops onto his hands and knees and can stand on the pool floor, no longer drowning. The screen says "Be careful when swimming!" and the level is cleared.
Strategy & Reasoning
This is an over-the-top rescue joke. Real life says throw the man a lifebuoy or reach the stick to him, and those objects are conveniently laid out as decoys. But the game's punchline is to remove the problem itself: if the pool has no water, there is nothing to drown in.
By draining the pool, the game converts a deep end into a shallow basin. The cramping man no longer needs to float โ he can stand on the floor. The bowl on the deck filling with water is a side detail of the draining, and the lifebuoy and stick are left unused on purpose to sell the absurdity.
The key insight is that "help him" does not have to mean saving him in the water; it can mean making the water go away. Once you think of draining, the plug/drain at the pool is the obvious control, and the panicked swimmer becomes a person standing in a puddle.
Tips & Common Mistakes
- Mistake: using the lifebuoy or stick. These look like the proper rescue tools but are decoys; they do not solve the level the way the game wants.
- Mistake: jumping in yourself. You cannot reach him by swimming; there is no swimmer to control.
- Mistake: forgetting the drain. Pull the pool's drain plug to empty the water. When the water level drops enough that he can stand on the bottom, he is saved.
