Brain Puzzle 3 Level 166

📝 Walkthrough

Overview

Level 166 is a timed bedroom-weirdness puzzle. The yellow banner says "Help her get rid of the weirdness" with a 3:00 countdown. At night, a red-haired girl in a purple nightgown lies wide-eyed and scared in bed, while her blond boyfriend in blue-striped pajamas stands sleepwalking with his arms out, mouth open. The room feels wrong: a full-length mirror shows a dark ghostly figure, the AC is blasting cold air, a ceiling vent fan hums, a round table is covered with a red checkered cloth, a hammer lies on the floor, a yellow curtain hangs over the window, a wardrobe stands open, and a lamp sits unplugged. The subtitle reads "Why is tonight so weird?" The goal is to neutralize every unsettling thing so the couple can sleep.

  • Difficulty: Regular
  • Estimated moves: 6

Step-by-Step Solution

  1. Put the sleepwalking husband to bed. Tap the sleepwalking blond man. He collapses onto the round table (then is moved into bed), no longer standing and waving his arms. The subtitle reads "Did you have a nightmare?"
  1. Cover the mirror with the tablecloth. Tap the red checkered tablecloth; it is lifted off the table and draped over the full-length mirror, hiding the dark ghostly reflection. The table becomes a bare white round table.
  1. Tape the ceiling vent. Tap the ceiling vent fan; yellow X-shaped tape is stuck over it, silencing the humming draft.
  1. Plug in the lamp. Tap the lamp; its cord is plugged into the wall outlet, giving soft light instead of the cold blue AC glare.
  1. Give the girl a sleep mask. Tap the girl; a sleep mask is placed over her eyes so she cannot see any remaining weirdness, and she relaxes under the green blanket.
  1. The room settles. With the husband safely in bed, the mirror covered, the vent taped, the lamp on and the girl masked, both of them lie down and sleep peacefully together. A black cat curls up in the pet bed. The red "Completed" banner drops with confetti.

Strategy & Reasoning

This is a "list of spooky things, fix them one by one" puzzle. The subtitle "Why is tonight so weird?" hints that each item in the room is a source of unease. The sleepwalking husband is the first thing to handle because he is visibly out of it; the ghost in the mirror is the most obvious scare; the humming vent, cold AC light and unplugged lamp are the ambient weirdness. The sleep mask is the final touch so the girl stops seeing things.

The red checkered tablecloth does double duty: it comes off the table and covers the mirror, which is why the table turns white. The hammer on the floor and the open wardrobe are set dressing / red herrings. The black cat in the pet bed appears once the room is calm.

There is no supernatural fight; the solution is to cover the scary mirror, quiet the vent, light the room, and get everyone into bed. The level completes automatically once all five fixes are applied and the couple is lying down.

Tips & Common Mistakes

  • Mistake: leaving the sleepwalker standing. Tap him first to put him to bed. If he is still wandering, nothing else will settle.
  • Mistake: leaving the mirror uncovered. The ghost figure in the mirror is the main scare. The red tablecloth must be draped over it.
  • Mistake: forgetting the vent or the lamp. The taped ceiling vent and the plugged-in lamp are both required. If the room still feels wrong, check the ceiling fan and the lamp cord.
