Brain Out 2 Level 177
๐ Walkthrough
Overview
A security guard holds up a hand blocking the gate. A sign beside him reads "1.2M". A tall man holding a ticket stands next to a short boy wearing a very tall black top hat. The solved frame shows the boy without the hat, the guard smiling and waving them in, with flowers and the message "That's great! Meet the standards can be admission!". The trick is that the boy's tall top hat is what makes him exceed the height standard; removing it makes him meet the limit.
- Difficulty: Easy
- Estimated moves: 2
Step-by-Step Solution
- Read the height rule. The sign says "1.2M" and the guard is stopping them at the gate for being too tall.
- Spot the trick. The boy is wearing an oversized tall top hat that adds a lot of height to his actual body.
- Remove the hat. Drag the tall top hat off the boy's head and set it aside.
- He passes the gate. Without the hat, his real height meets the 1.2M standard. The guard waves them in and the success message appears.
Strategy & Reasoning
The puzzle asks what to do when they are "super high" โ i.e. over the height limit. The only thing inflating the boy's height is his decorative top hat. Brain Out hides the answer in an obvious accessory: removing the tall hat drops his measured height to within the allowed limit, satisfying the guard.
The joke is that the height measurement includes the hat, so the boy appears to exceed 1.2 meters even though his actual body is well under. Taking off the hat is the simplest fix and the one the guard accepts, rather than any negotiation. The tall man next to him already passes; only the boy's hat is the problem. Once the hat is off, the guard no longer has a reason to block them.
Why does removing a hat change the measured height? The guard measures whoever stands under the sign, and the tall top hat sits right on the boy's head, adding obvious centimeters to his height. Because the hat is part of what the guard sees when he looks up, the boy appears to exceed the 1.2M limit. Taking it off drops his real height below the line without any negotiation or bribe. The tall man beside him already passes on his own, so the hat is the only thing inflating the boy's measurement. Once it is off, the guard has no reason to block them.
Tips & Common Mistakes
- Mistake: bribing or moving the sign. Do not try to pay the guard or shift the height marker; the fix is on the boy's head.
- Tip: The object to remove is the boy's tall top hat.
- Troubleshooting: If the guard still blocks them, make sure you fully removed the hat.
- Note: After the hat is off, his true height passes the standard and they are admitted.
